CarPaintCode

Where is the paint code on a Subaru?

Vehicle information plate under the bonnet or the door-jamb label. Three characters, for example D4S (Crystal Black Silica) or K1X (Ice Silver).

1 2
  1. Engine bay firewall / strut tower
  2. Driver's door jamb (B-pillar)

Step by step

  1. Open the bonnet and look for the information plate on the passenger-side strut tower or the firewall.
  2. On newer models check the label on the driver's door jamb.

No label?

Labels fade or go missing after repairs. A Subaru dealer can read the original colour from the VIN, and the service booklet often lists it. If the car has been resprayed, have a painted part (the fuel filler flap is ideal) scanned at a paint shop.
